Introduction to the Book
On a daily basis we have to make several color choices. Which color blouse/shirt/dress am I going to wear today? Which color skirt/pants does it match with? Does the color of my shoes match the color of my outfit? And so on… But the more important question should be: Do the colors I’m wearing enhance my appearance?
Wouldn’t it be great if you were able to figure out which colors match well with your appearance and your personality? Of course, it would be great, knowledge is power! Are you ready to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of color?
We will help you navigate and make colors work for you. This book is recommended for both beginners as well as for professionals. With easy instructions, you’ll be able to perform your own color analysis. Let’s start by clarifying what color analysis is exactly. Color analysis is based on science that has its roots in the world of art. Simply put, it means that by looking at one’s natural features like the color of one’s eyes, hair and skin tone, only a certain set of colors harmonizes with one’s natural coloring. The key is to find that set of colors that harmonizes with your facial features so that you look your absolute best. We recommend beginners to start with the 4-season color analysis and for the more advanced ones amongst us, we have clear instructions on how to perform the 12-season color analysis.
After you have successfully performed your own color analysis, you will learn which colors enhance your appearance. Think about all the advantages that come with it. You will no longer question what colors to wear, shopping for new clothes/make-up/accessories will be a breeze. In this book, you will find tons of graphics and images to illustrate the ease of use of colors in your daily outfits. Exploring and experimenting with color is a fascinating journey. The more you get acquainted with your color palette and your personal preference of certain colors within your color palette the more you will develop your own style.
Besides visual effects, research shows that color can greatly affect our behavior, mood and the way other people respond to us. How can you put colors to work for you to get what you want? Whether you are interviewing for a job, trying to impress someone on a date or looking to create the right mood in your interior, color psychology will help you get what you want.
Written by color experts, this book explains in the easiest way possible the effects that colors have on us. Through graphics and pictures, it becomes clear how to put this knowledge into real life practice.

Anja Vernelen
Anja is a color and style consultant residing in Belgium. Her career began in the United States in 2010 when she was blogging about the influence of color on our appearance. The hundreds of positive reactions to her blog posts led to her becoming a certified color and style consultant.
Aspiring to help everyone who wants to enhance their appearance, she set up a website devoted solely to online color advice. For many years, her website “ColorMePretty.co” organically (meaning through content only) ranked number 1 in Google searches for “seasonal color analysis”.
After having done over 2500 color analyses, online as well as in person, she is still intrigued by how certain clothes, styles and especially colors can really change people’s image. Wearing the latest fashion doesn’t mean that you look good. It means that you are “in style” but does this new style or color suit you? Before buying a new piece of clothing, your first question should always be: “Will this color enhance my best features?”. And giving the answer to this question is her passion.
