Introduction to the Book
The pandemic did something to the way we work and we are left grappling with it. Stuck inside our homes, the 9-5 lost all its meaning. We started prioritizing friends, family and me-time more than meeting our deadlines. As the virus raged and took so many lives, our exhaustion with everything around us became more and more palpable. This has led a lot of us to rethink what our job means to us. The thing we spend doing most of our day, does it bring us joy, excitement and a sense of belonging like it used to? Stripped of the daily rituals of putting on a nice dress, getting coffee with colleagues, traveling to meet clients, after work meetings, what is left of the work that we actually do? It's time we asked ourselves and our organizations some tough questions and figure out what the next decade in the world of work would look like.
