3 reasons why you should co-author a book.
Once upon a time, in a jungle, a flock of birds got caught in a trap set by a hunter. The hunter became very happy that he had caught so many birds. He went to find a buyer for those birds. Meanwhile the birds became sad and thought there was no hope for them. But one bird tried to get rid of the net. The net was so heavy, his efforts didn’t help at all. So, he asked help from the other birds. When all of them at the same time tried to fly, they were able to fly into the sky with the net! Moral of the story: what an individual can’t do, a group can!
There’s real power in collaboration. It can take you places you wouldn’t have the confidence to go on your own.
Authoring a book can be very exciting but also time-consuming. Many start the journey but are not able to reach the end. There are distractions, obstacles, low self -motivation, lack of discipline etc. But like the bird in the story, if we take help from others in authoring a book, the journey might not be that long or hard. Here are three reasons why you should co-author a book:
1) Time:
There is a phrase called “Time is money”. It’s so true! We all have limited time on this earth and so much to accomplish. So many goals to achieve simultaneously. Authoring a book might get side-tracked easily. In this fast-paced world with deadlines, co-authoring can be a simple solution to achieving our dream of authoring a book. A work which takes years to accomplish by an individual, a group can finish it faster. Co-authoring is a team work which helps achieve the goal of authoring a book quicker and within a time-line!
2) Workload:
Authoring a book is not so easy. It takes lot of hard work and sleepless nights. There is an idea, writing, editing, proof-reading and publishing broadly. Each step takes lot of work. There is lot of re-writing, re-phrasing, correcting…the list goes on. But if there is someone to share your workload then it becomes easier and faster. The more, the better. As each author concentrates on his/ her chapters, the journey of authoring doesn’t seem so hectic anymore. It decreases the pressure and stress on each individual. Many give up on the journey because of the workload. Co-authoring is co-labor. It makes it easier and better for each author.
3) Become an Author:
For many people, becoming an author remains only a dream. They have the desire and dream of becoming an author but somehow the dream is never fulfilled. There are so many other responsibilities, goals, priorities that authoring a book takes a back-seat. But co-authoring can help you fulfill your dream now. There is no need to procrastinate or delay. Take help and become an author! There are websites which allow you to contribute in a book not published yet. Also if you have an idea, you can take help of others who can contribute and co-author a book of your own!
Co-Authoring helps us to express our ideas on a book within a short time-frame. It helps us to achieve our goals with help from each other. United efforts lead to better and efficient results. As an individual, authoring a book might be tough. But as a group, we can!
